So you want to make money online?

Okay, so we have all heard the stories of people making millions online every day, making money whilst they sleep, work once and get paid continuously through out their online enterprise life span etc etc.

Sound exciting?  It absolutely is exciting!

I think everyone would love to live the new “rock star” life style of internet marketing, and when you think about the possibility of working from your bed and getting paid up to ten times more than a convential job, who wouldn’t love that?

What I intend to do over the next few months is exactly this.  I am going to take all the theory about internet marketing, more specificially affiliate marketing, and give it a real go, to see if it is right for me.

Whilst this is not my primary business, (there is a big difference between the internet marketing I am reffering to in this post and e-marketing in general), I believe I have the know how and skills to be able to implement it, and discover for myself just how much money is possible to be made online.

The various different tools and techniques I am going to be implementing is as follows:

1) Affiliate marketing – This is a broad term and covers many different products and techniques.  For anyone who doesnt know, affiliate marketing is basically selling other peoples products online, or reffering clients to other businesses and making a commision out of each sale/referral.

2) Monetising my sites through Advertising networks – This includes Pay per click, pay per impression ad revenue.

3) Set up a string of niche sites - I will be setting up a network of different sites focused on different topics.  This will help me monetise those sites with affiliate products/adverts of relevance.

4) Improve my social profile – The more popular you become online, the more traffic you can divert to your business.

5) Start creating video blogs – This has its obvious advantages that traditional blogging doesnt provide, and that is exposure on the video social networks, therefore creating even more awareness and providing further more opportunity to monetise in-video ads.

The above points are just a general list of my internet marketing to-do’s.  It is not a full time job by any means but more of an interesting experiment none the less (Yes, we love experiments on this site).
