10 tips to stay awake for 48 hours in order to complete a project

10 tips to stay awake for 48 hours in order to complete a project

The last couple of days, I have been very busy working on client projects.  And due to deadline requirements, this has resulted in me working non-stop for 36 – 48 hour periods (I think .. its hard to tell with all the lack of sleep! )

I wanted to just share a list of tips, that may or may not work for you in order to stay awake for 48 hours, and work away!

1. Drink plenty of coffee

Coffee definitely helps you keep the momentum, you will have to drink many many cups though, please consider the health risks in that, im no doctor, but that’s my disclaimer.

2. When coffee fails, bring out the energy drinks and get wings?

Okay lets face it, how much coffee can you drink before you start to get immune.  Your eyes are slowly shutting .. TIME FOR REDBULL!  Energy drinks have soo much more caffeine and will give you a sudden boost of energy.  (Disclaimer as before).

3. You need some fresh air

You know why they call it fresh air?  Because it helps you stay fresh!  Go out, breath some fresh air, let it cool you down, re-vitalise your mind!

4. If your a smoker, Smoke some cigarettes! (Disclaimer: Smoking Kills)

I am by no means encouraging smoking, but if you do it anyways, you should know, that for me, smoking tends to help me stay up.  Perhaps at this point, its the over dose of caffeine mixed with nicotine cocktail that is forcing the eyes and mind to stay open..

5. Eat some fresh fruits (This should balance the health risks above)

Fresh fruits like air, are called fresh because they make your mind and body fresh! There is nothing like NATURAL GOD given energy, something that the red bull can doesn’t have any of.  Think of Red Bull as a plastic surgeons results, whilst fruit are your natural born results ;)

6. Take a cold shower or two

Taking cold showers will really help you keep yourself awake, and stimulate your mind and body, and most important, revitalize!

7. Keep yourself distracted

If you find that you cant fight the force within you begging you to sleep, keep yourself distracted.  Go talk to some people if there are any around, or go do something with yourself.  Dont stay in the same position if you are falling asleep, because believe me, you will fall asleep right in that spot.

8. (Warning could be dangerous) Go for a drive, blast your stereo, put down the windows

Driving is probably one of those activities that commands for you to be alert.  Otherwise you could get killed.  I would not do this if I was nearly at the end of my minds charge rate.  In fact I remember reading in my learners test, that you should pull over to the side of the road if tired and sleep.  Oh well ..

9. Stand in front of the AC with your face right up the vent

Okay do you feel it now?  That lovely cold cold breeze.  You should be able to get another 30 mins battery life from that atleast.

10. Write a silly blog post about how to stay up for 48 hours to keep your mind active

As i write this post, i have tried all of the above points.  I have even driven to a coffee shop where i am sitting with a can of redbull and a cup of coffee, a pack of cigarettes and a shisha.  It seems to be working for me .. :)

Do you have any suggestions that work for you?  I would love to hear them .. please comment below and share!
